Another move and a big announcement

Sorry I haven't been keeping up very well with blogging I'm horrible at it really but at least I'm trying.  Anyways, recently we moved.  we moved out of our apartment in Kennewick to a duplex in richland which is really nice.  Has a big back yard which Rogue LOVES!! and lots more room.  granted the kitchen is smaller but I'll still take it over where we were living prior.  It is also a lot closer to Jeremy's work which a big plus.  We are also a couple blocks away from the columbia river and where there is a walking trail that runs along it.  as well as a couple blocks away from an elementary school that has some nice toys for Rogue to have fun with.

The other news is that we are expecting again, Rogue will have another sibling around may 15th.  During our move I had our first doctors appointment and of course got an ultrasound.  we are nicknaming this child OB1, there is a funny story to that, obviously it has a star wars theme to it but I have twins that run in my family so there was some concern about whether this child could be 1 or 2 so it was thus nicknamed OB1 as is "Oh Be 1, please just be 1!"

and yes we are only having one.  As of right now I am 13 weeks pregnant, these were taken at 9 weeks (sorry so late, bad me!)
I still have morning sickness that is of course happens anytime and not just the morning.  Zofran and I are best buds *rolls eyes*

But anyways, all seems to be going well.  Rogue is getting bigger and more like a little person instead of a little baby she once was *sniff*  she is saying more and more words each day.  Sometimes you have to really listen cause of the baby slur as I like to call it.  She loves to mimic both words and actions, just wants to be a big girl!!! it is adorable I must say.  She is now in a big girl bed since she could climb out of her crib- I knew it was going to happen soon luckily she never hurt herself.  She seems to like it well though we are having fun trying to keep her in bed at times but of course that it normal.

On another note, for some reason I can't seem to figure out how to comment on other people's blogs via blog spot, if you are on facebook I can but I can't seem to do it directly not sure why but I'm not ignoring your comments...I just can't post back!!
Take care,  I will post more soon especially about halloween and the activities leading towards it but I need to find the plug for my camera to the computer...aparantly I still haven't unpacked that.
Take care!

Updates on the fun of our lives!

Sorry to all for the lack of an update for a while....bad me! *smacks hand*
Let's see here, not much has really been going on till the last couple weeks I guess, Jeremy has been working lots (poor guy).  we've have been making a point to try and take Rogue out for walks or take her to a local waterpark (badger mtn sports park for all those that are local)  I LOVE that place and of course Rogue does too.  It has a playground with lots of slides that Rogue just adores and then of course there is the waterpark that is just right for my little water baby.  it doesn't have a pool but there are lots of sports themed sprinklers with a couple small water slides. It is a perfect area for not only her to get some physical activity but also some socialization.  It also has a dog park, which we used when my parents came over one weekend and we took their dog tigra with us.
Jeremy and I got to have some adult time last weekend.  We dropped Rogue off with my parents and went for a Motorcycle ride to Joseph, OR.  It was a nice and very relaxing day for the both of us.  Though I will have to say... You know when you are a parent to a toddler when you are riding on the back of your husband's bike and you see a cow and mentally you start saying "There's a cow, cow's go Moooo."  Yeah....I needed that getaway. LOL.  We also rode around Wallowa Lake, we were about ready to leave when laying right in front of a parked truck was a buck, happily relaxing and ignoring all the humans gawking at it.  Of course we had to stop so Jeremy could take a couple of pictures of it (from a far of course since it is STILL a wild animal). Here is some of the pictures.

All in all it was a great trip!

Rogue is now in the copying stage...she wants to be a big girl SOOOO bad and just Loves and I mean LOVES to do anything Daddy does (she is a daddy's girl of course!)
Recently we baked some oatmeal raisin cookies and Jeremy's favorite way to eat them is to dip them in milk well...it was aparantly time for Rogue to learn to do that too!

I think she had more fun dipping the cookies and sucking the milk off than actually eating the cookie itself!
She also likes to help daddy wash his motorcycle. we had to get pictures of this as evidence for when she's older and refuses to wash the car when we ask:

Obviously she also had a lot of fun washing the floor too...hmmmm wonder if I can get her to mop the floor in the kitchen??
Talking wise she has started to mimic words and sounds.  This last weekend Jeremy's sister Carment and hubby Gary came over for the night and Rogue's new thing is to hand you her coloring pencils and then take them back one at a time.  well when she was doing it with Gary he noticed she was saying "ank ou" at the end!!! YAY big mommy hugs!!! Just last night she was mimicking the letters a, b, c, and d when I was reading her an alphabet book and then the word "cat." soon I am going to have a little talker!!!
We also may be moving to Richland here in the next month, we applied for a duplex which is bigger than this apartment, has a back yard, closer to Jeremy's work and it cheaper in rent. Let's hope we get it!  We are also looking to rent out or house in Houston so that will be a blessing too.
Well that's enough for now, hope all is well with everyone else!
Take care and have a great rest of the summer!!

Fourth of July Weekend and the In-Law's 40th Anniversary

This weekend was quite busy really.  We went down to Salem to not only celebrate the 4th of July but also to celebrate Jeremy's parents' 40th wedding anniversary.  Jeremy had to work part of friday so I spent that morning getting the car packed and ready so that way when he got home we could leave for our 5 hour drive down there.  Rogue loves her visits but let me tell you what, she HATES sitting in her car seat for that long.  She is however getting a lot better at it now than she used to.  now she doesn't start fussing till about hour 4 when it used to be after hour 2.  Since a couple of Jeremy's cousins from West Virginia were visiting his parents we stayed at my sister in law, Carmen's house.  Which was awesome.  Rogue got to constantly play with her cousins Calista and Cassidy.  Calista is a little over a year older than her and Cassidy is just 6 months younger.  It was great seeing Calista and Rogue chasing each other (cassidy is just crawling at this point) around their big back yard.  They also have a play house which Rogue fell in love with.  Sunday was warm enough that we set up a kiddy pool and the girls all had a blast, in fact Monday they went out and played in it again and I had to get Rogue out of the pool just to go home (she is such a water baby).  As far as the anniversary, it went pretty smoothly.  Mom wanted family pictures in a big way.  We had an appointment to get them at 3 on saturday which was the actual date of their anniversary.  Carmen and I ran around that morning and got all of us coordinating shirts and matching dresses and shoes for the girls as well as the cake, flowers and gifts.  It was a little insane.  we got back with an hour and a half to spare aka, get ourselves to stop sweating and do our hair and put makeup on....I should also tell you it was QUITE HOT that day! Our main concern obviously was how the girls were going to handle the pictures.  Rogue was the only one that didn't get a nap but Cassidy was teething and quite unhappy due to it and there was so much excitement that even Calista was getting a little cranky.  But over all really the pictures turned out better than expected.  I would post them but I was asked not to just because they were wanting to surprise people with the pictures.  Hopefully in a couple  months when all dies down maybe I can post them.
We got back late last night, didn't really see any fireworks around here, we set off our own saturday night but since Jeremy had to go to work today and we were all pretty tired we didn't want to stay up and watch them.  Heard a few bangs and booms though.
Well I hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July!!

Rogue's First Word

The last few weeks Rogue's baby talk has become more and more like words.  Though by definition her first word should be a word that she not only says but comprehends the meaning of the word as well.  So even though for the last few months she's been saying a lot of Mamamamamamamamama's and dadadadadadadada's and nananananananana's, it wasn't like she was coming up to me and saying mama.  Her official first word is "no." Though I am not sure I think this is a good first word.  Everytime she says it everyone looks at me, laughs and says "you must say that to her a lot." It kinda bothers me.  Yes, I have been teaching her a lot on what she can and can't do so yes, I do say "no" a lot but I also say a lot of "yes'" and "thank you's" now I know that she can't say those words yet and that "no" is a lot easier for her to say than anything else.  I guess I was just thinking that it would be a different word and no I wasn't expecting her to say Mama.  I actually figured it would be baba which we call her bottle.  All in all, I am very proud of her saying her first word, I'm thrilled!  I just am not sure I like people's reaction when she says it but I'll get over it.  Guess it is the first time mother in me and am afraid that I am being too negative.
In other news, we decided to start Rogue in cloth diapers at night since she's exploded out of her disposable night time diapers.  I just got some, decided to try a brand called "blueberry" though I am considering g-diapers if these don't work though I was told about Jillians drawers by Teresa who used it and I am highly considering going that route too if these don't work.  Oh well, I'll just be happy if we can FINALLY have her sleep the whole night without wetting the bed.

Father's Day Camping Trip

For weeks my dad has been saying that he wanted to go camping and so after finally digging out all of our camping stuff out of the storage shed as well as weather permitting (sort of, I'll get to that later)  we decided to do our first camping trip of the year on Father's Day weekend.  Since neither Jeremy nor my mom had friday off it was decided we would head out Saturday morning.  The area we picked was in between Tollgate and Elgin, OR off of a road that heads up and goes into national forest.  Jeremy and I had been to this particular spot before and loved it.  Jeremy, Rogue and I got up Saturday morning and got ready to go, I started loading the truck while Jeremy was giving Rogue some breakfast and as soon as I walked outside...it was raining. Boo! but I wasn't going to let it ruin anything and my dad had said he would like to go no matter if it rained or not which was fine with us.  It was supposed to only rain a small amount and it probably did in Tri-Cities and Walla Walla, but NOT where we were camping.  It rained ALL day long and most of the night as well. Though it didn't pour down rain all the time there was a lot it was misting.   Though sometime after Rogue and my dad went to bed while my mom, Jeremy and I sat by the fire we did see the starry night sky for like hmmmm 10 minutes maybe?  Even though it rained we didn't have too many problems setting up camp.  We did try to make a covered porch with tarps and poles off of our truck but a good gust of wind took that down.  Instead Jeremy and I did what he was taught years ago while hunting with his parents.  we went and found 3 trees, one being much longer than the others and the other two we cut in half to make 5 poles total.  Making an X with two smaller poles we tied those together and did the same with the other two poles a few feet apart then we put the bigger pole on top and ties that down.  we threw the tarp over it and used metal poles from the previous attempt and staked those in front to make a nice covered area which wasn't going to blow down anytime soon.
The next morning (sunday) was beautiful!!!! nice, warm and sunny.  We all hoped into the truck and drove around cruising the area and taking in the beautiful sites.  We didn't leave that day until after 5 pm, not getting home until after 8 pm tired, happy and smelling like campfire.  All in all, it was a fantastic camping trip!

Here's the covered porch

Rogue playing in the tall grass and yes we went through MANY changes of clothing during this overnight stay...my kid loves puddles!
Climbing on Daddy's Lap...in the distance is my mom we won't talk about the "potty chair" she is carrying...

Our camp from the road coming in
The view in front of our camp
The meadow where we saw a deer that morning

From The Beginning

In my mind when I read someone's blog especially if it is about a family like this one, I want to know about their beginning. How they met, was it love at first or did it take a few tries before they got it right and so forth.  So I decided that's how I would start this blog.  Plus, the small space for the "about me" section just doesn't do what happend to us justice mainly because love is not small and how can you simply explain you met the love of your life and have everything you could possibly dream of and more in just a few short simple sentances?  I can't seem to but then again, I have never been one to explain things short and to the point so here goes...

I had recently gotten out of a pretty disfunctional relationship where I found out that I was not as strong and emotionally untouchable as I once thought I was.  I had thought that I was strong and could see through anyone's bullshit especially anyone that I was dating.  It turned out that I was just as naive and easily blinded by love as anyone. Needless to say, it was a big ego blower.  I didn't give up and one of my dear friends fixed me up with this very nice guy.  Mind you, she had been trying to do this for years.  I finally relented and started dating him but it became very aparant to me after a couple months that it wasn't meant to be.  I was too busy, I was in school and quite frankly a workaholic ( I loved my job so it was quite easy to do) as well as I just didn't feel that extra spark.  My other main problem which I've had this many times was that I was wearing the pants in the relationship, I controlled it.  This is in my nature, I've always been like this, as a child I was "bossy and demanding" as other kids would tell me.  It's not something I am exactly proud of and have lost many potential friends this way but fortunately in my "older years" I have mellowed out considerably other than in my love life.  My relationships were usually that of where I was wearing the pants but hating it and thus losing respect for my boyfriends because of it as well.  I would end up deeming them irritating, and in some cases complete idiots.  Other than my now husband, the only other person whose personality that I had dated that I would have been compatible with turned out to become one of my best friends which neither he nor I regret that outcome.
By the time I met Jeremy I was seriously considering not dating anyone whether I found them completely interesting or not.  I just didn't want to deal with the whole "dating scene" anymore.  I went with my friend to a local bar in Tri-Cities, it was really a company get together with her and a few of her co-workers.  Jeremy came with one of his buddies who worked with her.  We started talking and there was an instant spark neither could ignore.  A few days later on my birthday we got together again and really hung out and talked and we could not be seperated since then.  He was amazing, everything that I could have possibly dreamed of and was wishing for in a guy.  he was smart, charming, handsome of course but also strong willed yet easy going.  He could control things or just go with the flow and let me control.  and the amazing thing was...I could comfortably do the same with him.
When things started to look serious for us, he warned me that he could get transfered to Frederick, Maryland and that it was looking like it could be soon.  We got the official notice about a month later and he asked me to move with him, I said yes.  I remember working in ER and my mom stopped by to drop off some paperwork (she worked at the same hospital I did) I grabbed her and took her into the break room to tell her that I was leaving with him. I was so scared that she would get upset with me but the funny thing was...she had this grin on her face the whole time.  still makes me shake my head, I would have been upset personally but oh well.  Very soon Jeremy got offered an interview for a company in Houston, TX.  He went down there, interviewed and soon we had the choice of going to Houston, TX or Maryland.  We decided on Texas and October of 2008 we were moving down to Texas only knowing each other for 5 months.  Crazy huh?  Well it got crazier...A year later we were deciding to get married and to try for our first child.  Well getting pregnant was a little faster and easier than we were expecting and on May 25th 2009 we were eloping (with parents permission) when I was a month along with Rogue.  We had her January 11th of 2010.  By this time the job market was slowing way down especially in the oil industry which Jeremy was an electrical engineer in.  In May of 2010 we got an offer to temporary transfer to Tri-Cities, Wa which we were thrilled about since we would be closer to family (an hour and 5 hours vs 2200 miles).  By September Jeremy was offered a permanent position up here in Tri-Cities which we accepted and officially moved up.  In January Rogue celebrated her first birthday and this last may 25th, Jeremy and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary.  So that's the beginning of us and an update till now, well in a nutshell!
